Really, Really long Explanation Regarding my Thoughts on ND29

nancydfan:

This my dear friends is a really long explanation to all the questions I have received about my post last night about my frustrations as well as some other posts I’ve seen regarding ND29. I put it under the cut for spoilers just in case :) OH if you read this whole thing, then bless you :)

I totally get where you’re coming from. I just find it intriguing, because Nancy is my hero as well; I was into the books years before the games, and I too have 3 shelves dedicated to about 200 of the books. But I feel the exact opposite - the subject of ND29 is something I never expected, but now want desperately. Yes, it’s something they will really blow if they don’t do it with utter care and respect for the canon, and I will be upset if it’s not executed perfectly. But I’m looking forward to seeing this new perspective, precisely because it’s something that hasn’t really been addressed before. Maybe this makes me a poor fan, but even so. I do agree with you - this is something they should not have tried to touch, for all the reasons you explained, but now that it’s inevitable, I’m looking forward to it.

I’m not trying to make a point here, so please don’t think anything of this! =\

of all the songs in the movie, i though look down was the best-done, and perhaps better than many versions on the cast recordings. the anger and determination in the voices of the poor were eerily perfect — not to mention gavroche’s extended solo, which was brilliant and gave the song a larger impact!
